Artist Statement
As a self-taught visual artist based in Austin, TX, my journey is shaped by a passion for figure painting, illustrations, photography, and collage. Collaborating with diverse inspirations, I strive to express emotional narratives through my work.
Throughout my life, art has been a means of coping with my reality. Creating something physical as a way to express something non-physical has always brought comfort and clarity to what I feel. My art is a way of finding understanding, even when the physical outcome itself is not clear. Understanding of sexuality, identity, spirituality, emotions, self-hatred, and the human experience. I use chaotic and almost clashing techniques to create nuance and complexity that leaves the viewer with their own self-interpretation, allowing room for questions and conversations to be had. I hope that my work can tie me to the viewer and connect us through what we have in common - being human.
